In November 2024, I had the honor of participating and presenting at the 2024 College of Psychiatrists of Ireland Winter Conference in Limerick (Ireland), where 2024 year’s theme was "Creativity and the Arts in Psychiatry." It was inspiring to see such a diverse and insightful focus on how the arts contribute to mental health care.
During Friday afternoon's panel, I presented on "Music and Medicine: From Neuroscience to Music Therapy," exploring the intersection of music, brain science, and therapeutic practice. Following my talk, Prof. Hillary Moss shared her expertise with "Music Therapy and Music in Mental Health Services: Practice and Research," offering profound insights into how music therapy is applied in clinical settings and its growing research base.

To close the conference, Mr. Christopher Bailey, Arts and Health Lead at the World Health Organization, gave a moving performance titled "Strangers in Time: Transgenerational Trauma and the Arts." His presentation illuminated the power of the arts in addressing trauma across generations, leaving us all with a sense of awe and reflection.
It was a truly enriching experience to contribute to such a meaningful conversation on the transformative role of the arts in psychiatry.
Thank you to my CAMHS and Adult Psych colleagues Jaime Martinez, Valentina Corrias, Beatrice Guiso Rasha Elbagir, Martina Quinlan, for your photos and continuous support.
